We live in the short attention span era, and most people nowadays are just too smart to be sold on anything.
Direct Marketing doesn’t work as much as it did in the past.
One tactic that used to work a lot in the past was repetition and continuously showing up at the customer’s doorstep to convert them into a conversion.
Salespeople were known to be the glue at customers’ doorsteps, but that was the norm, and it was working well at the time.
But now, in this new day and age of the information revolution. People are smart and wouldn’t engage in any campaign if it didn’t help them solve a problem.
More than anything else, nowadays people have gotten used to get a lot of stuff for FREE.
The advantage to this is that you can use something called the “Lead Magnet” to lure people into signing up for your email list so that you can retarget them later with products to buy.

A lead magnet is a marketing term for a free item or service that is given away for the purpose of gathering contact details.
As the saying goes :

The easiest way to build an email list is through a funnel.
Below is an opt-in page of a sales funnel I have built for one of my clients.
This type of funnel is called the webinar sales funnel, and to ensure that people submit their email addresses I used the strategy of “Over-delivering” by giving them an ebook as a gift once they sign up.
Once people submit their email, they are automatically redirected to the webinar sales page. On that page, they can watch the FREE 45 Minutes webinar, and many calls to action are in place to convert the lead into buying the high-end product “Digital 8,5 Hours trading course.”
But people will only buy a product if it solves a specific problem in their life because they are always looking to move from pain to pleasure.
This might seem Ludacris, but neuro-surgeons get paid more than others because of the difficulty of the problems solved.
The more complex the problem you solve, the higher the payday.
To make your funnel successful, look for more significant problems to solve in your niche of expertise.
